For anxious patients (and this also applies to children), we offer the way of a laughing gas sedation – also called analog sedation. Laughing gas has even a calming effect in addition to the anxiety-resolving effect. The laughing gas sedation is particularly recommended for patients, who although do not have real fear, but have a certain psychological barrier before a dental treatment.
In contrast to the "general anesthesia", you are still approachable during the laughing gas sedation and after treatment within a short time again fully conscious. However, for security, you should let your relatives or acquaintances accompany you after the laughing gas sedation, and you shoud not drive a vehicle after treatment for a few hours.
If you have really a huge fear of treatment, we will offer you a treatment under general anesthesia. General anesthesia is injected in our practice by an experienced anesthetist. Even the recovery phase is medically monitored by us.
As soon as your blood circulation is stable, you may go home. However, for security, you should let your relatives or friends accompany you and you should not drive a vehicle after treatment for a few hours.
